A Precious Act of Sharing Created by the Children Themselves: The 2026 Kiwoom Market

“The Great Student Donation” – Mapo-gu Branch No. 6, Our Neighborhood Kiwoom Center

On the afternoon of Tuesday, August 4, the “2026 Kiwoom Market”—an event prepared and participated

 in by the children themselves—was held at the Mapo-gu Branch No. 6, Our Neighborhood Kiwoom Center.

As part of our organization’s “Child-Led Activities,” the children choose their own themes each month through student council meetings.

This August’s activity began when children who had previously participated in the annual “Kiwoom Market” expressed their desire to “do it again.”

Valuing the children’s input, we decided to host the Kiwoom Market together again this year.

Twenty-five children participated in this year’s Kiwoom Market.

The children joyfully practiced the spirit of sharing by preparing and selling a variety of items, including toys, school supplies, and accessories.

All proceeds from the items the children carefully prepared were donated to cover medical expenses for children with intractable illnesses. 👏

Through this activity, the children went beyond simply buying and selling items;

they learned the true meaning of giving and sharing—that they can share what they have with others and help someone in need.

The children’s small acts of kindness came together to bring great hope to someone.

This act of sharing, which they decided on and carried out themselves, became a valuable experience that helps create a warmer world.

The Korea Social Welfare Society will continue to support various sharing activities that begin with the children’s voices!!
