Grand St. Mary's Eye Clinic Hong gyeong-eui Representative Director
Q. Please introduce yourself. A. Hello, I'm the director of Grand St. Mary's Eye Clinic, 283 We the Great Shops. Grand St. Mary's Eye Clinic is an ophthalmology department that has been open for three years near Cheonho Station in Gangdong-gu, Seoul, and focuses on glaucoma and retinal blindness.
Q. How did you end up sponsoring We the Great Shops? A. I have participated in several volunteer activities with my friend when I was a student. My memory of that time was still in my mind, but now that I am running a hospital as an adult, I want to continue to practice sharing beyond just one-off participation. So I joined forces with the director who runs the hospital together to start sponsoring, and I have continued to do so.
Q. If there was a change that happened through sponsorship, what would it be? A: As a person, there are times when my body and mind get tired. Sometimes the first time I feel shaken. Regular sponsorship gives me the strength to relive my initial commitment and strengthen my mind at each of those moments. As the sponsorship continues, I feel like I can continue to be more responsible and provide consistent medical treatment and volunteer work. Beyond simple sponsorship, it is becoming a great help that allows me to continue my activities without losing my initial mind.
Q. Is there anything you would like to say to those who are hesitant to share? A. When I first started sponsoring, I was worried about whether I could continue this. Like the saying, "Starting is half," once I started, it became more natural than I thought. So if you have a heart for sharing, I hope you try it first instead of hesitating too much. After taking one step, you will meet people who are walking the same path, and you will gain strength to be with them. If you are thinking about it, please start. That start can make more meaning and change than you think.
