“What does an optician say about their job and popular glasses today?”
Q. What are the advantages and disadvantages of being an optician? A. After graduating from a two- or four- year college program in optometry and obtaining a national certification, you can easily open your own store with a certain amount of capital. That’s the advantage—you can be your own boss. However, the downside is that you spend a lot of time tied to the shop, which is why many young people tend to change jobs frequently.
Q. Do you recommend becoming an optician? A. It’s an attractive career! You’re not limited to just being a sales associate; there are various career paths, such as working for eyewear manufacturers. Plus, nowadays, there are many online platforms where you can sell glasses.

Q. Which brand of glasses are you currently wearing? A. I’m wearing ‘Anne et Valentin,’ a French brand. Many celebrities wear them too.
Q. What is the most popular eyewear design these days? A. Considering both horn spectacles and metal frames, the most popular design right now comes from the ‘Tom Ford’ brand. The brand itself is very popular, especially among customers in their 20s to 40s.
Q. What is the best way to clean glasses perfectly? A. The best way is to have them cleaned at an optical shop. However, if you need to clean them at home, first rinse them under running water, then gently rub them with soap or cleanser. Rinse again under running water and use a cleaning cloth provided by your optician to dry them completely.
Q. How can I prevent my glasses from fogging up? A. There are anti-fog lenses available with special coatings to prevent fogging. However, these lenses have lower density and are recommended only for people in specific professions requiring frequent temperature changes, such as moving in and out of freezers. They are also about 20–30% more expensive than regular lenses.
Q. How has sponsorship impacted your life? A. Practicing sharing with others has made me emotionally richer.
Q. Any words for those hesitant about sponsorship? A. People often think sponsorship has to be something grand or significant—this isn’t true! You can start with small amounts and approach it lightly and easily. I hope others try starting small as well.
